What Am I Working On?

I know what you may be thinking, there sure are a lot of different things going on here. Well, you are not wrong. One of the ways I fight writer’s block is to shift to another story when things are starting to slow down for what I’m working on. That way I can keep something moving! As a result, I have quite a few stories that I have in the works at once. But, you know what they say, “Variety is the Spice of Life,”

So what am I working on?

Shattered Wings

This is an Industrial Era High Fantasy Epic Trilogy that I’ve been developing for over ten years. It has a companion Tabletop RPG, called Oraspire RPG, that I’ve developed alongside it.

30 years ago, Kanawe rediscovered technology that had allowed the lost Aelphen people to build flying ships that carried their ambitions to new heights. This technology reshaped Oraspire overnight, along with several other discoveries, kicking off a new age of industry.

But, with change comes tension, and upheaval. While the world became more connected and prosperous than ever, others sought to use these new technologies to achieve their darkest dreams. War rages in the south and north. Declaring a holy war against those who worship the Gods, and use magic, the Lakellos Sun Empire begins a brutal crusade to forcibly convert everyone who does not believe in their one true Sun Goddess, Lakella. In the north, the Aioptum Empire marches with advanced machines of war, swallowing kingdoms, and nations far too weak to resist, pushing back even the great Makerian Rize Empire. If they continue, the entire world will be plunged into war.

The key to stopping their onslaught, and possibly ending a worldwide war before it even starts, may lie in the ancient past. Legends tell of the fabled lost city of Otanua, the last great city of the fallen Aelph, which held a secret that could have ended the Genesis Wars, and saved the Aelph. But the city was lost before they could use this technology. Savic, and his band of warriors are determined to uncover this secret before it is too late.

Savic, a disgraced Nasian knight is returning to the Vonan Kingdom, the lands of his forefathers. He has been forced to take a magically binding oath that forbids him from combat, even in self defense. He is lost until he meets Claire, an Altian Asaronai, who is determined to help him regain his honor. She can see the coming conflict, though the war has not yet come to the Vonan Kingdom. But how can Savic stop a war if he cannot fight?

Along the way, they encounter the brilliant Kanawe, an eccentric Larasu Arcane Philosopher from the lush Ana Isles to the west. She believes she may be able to finally track down the location of the legendary Otanua, and bring the growing conflict to an end.

Joined by Lady Natalya Rozensmyth, an unconventional Aerikan noblewoman, and her Illarian squire, AI Ru Song, the group must travel across the Kingdom of Vona, and find the lost city before they are too late.

Can they discover the secret in time?

Can they save the fracturing world of Oraspire?

The Forgotten Arts

This is a Psychological Horror Thriller that I can’t say too much about without giving the story away. But, if you get a chance to read it, you better buckle in.

It’s a new school year at Ahasteno University, and Kora is just a normal freshman college student starting a new stage in her life. Though, she keeps having the strangest dreams. They are so vivid that Kora can hardly believe that they are, in fact, dreams.

Eyes watch from every shadow, and very little is what it seems to be. Could the key to the growing nightmare of Kora’s waking life lie in her dreams?

The Bones of Night

This is a collection of short stories about a doomed space mining ship that was lost at the edge of known space. You take the role of an investigator trying to ascertain what happened to the ship based only off of the logs of the crew.

I’ve been releasing an issue every two weeks for this. Each issue features a set of log entries, and a message to the investigator, from the company that owned the ship. Can you solve the mystery of the Prospector?

What nightmares lie in the cold reaches of the void? Can you trust the crew is telling the truth? Or is something much stranger afoot?

Final Words

There is more that I am working on, of course, but these three are in active writing process, so you will see articles here about all three. The Bones of Night you will see more frequently, since I’m actively releasing issues of the series.
